WHO YOU’D BE WORKING WITH
Marketing brain. Operational mindset.
I’ve always been slightly obsessed with what happens next.
Getting someone’s attention is one thing. But what happens after they click, enquire, book a call or say they’re interested?
Where does that opportunity go? Who follows it up? What happens if they’re not ready today? And can anyone actually tell which marketing activity is contributing to growth?
Those questions are what Hello Friday is built around.
I don’t just look at how a business markets itself. I look at how all the pieces connect.
THE SHORT VERSION
I’m a growth advisor for established service businesses.
Hi, I’m Allison.
I work with small and medium-sized service businesses, usually founder-led, usually somewhere between comfortable and stuck. Businesses with something proven to sell and a growth problem they haven’t been able to solve on their own.
Advisor rather than consultant, because I don’t diagnose a problem and hand you a document. I set the direction with you, then stay alongside while it happens: the strategy, the plan, the templates and frameworks, and the regular sessions that keep it moving.
I’ve spent more than twenty years across marketing, business operations and consultancy. My career hasn’t followed a perfectly neat marketing-only path, and I think that’s one of the reasons I’m good at what I do.
I look beyond the campaign, to the commercial objective behind it and whether the business can actually turn the opportunities into revenue.

WHERE THE THINKING COMES FROM
Marketing has to connect to the business.
During my corporate career, including my time as Head of Marketing at Hitachi Construction Machinery UK, marketing wasn’t something that happened in isolation. I worked alongside senior leadership to translate wider business objectives into practical plans, and to make sure those plans moved from strategy into action.
It taught me to think commercially. What is the business trying to achieve? What needs to happen to get there? What should we prioritise, who needs to be involved, and how will we know whether it’s working?
Those are still the questions I ask today.
WHY SMALLER BUSINESSES ARE DIFFERENT
Then I saw the problem from the other side.
Working with smaller and growing businesses showed me a very different marketing environment.
Often there’s no shortage of effort. The business has a website. Someone is creating content. There might be an SEO company, a freelancer, paid advertising, networking, email marketing or a CRM. There are plenty of individual pieces.
What’s often missing is someone looking across all of them and asking whether they’re actually working together, and whether the gaps are costing you money.
That’s where Hello Friday comes in.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Strategy is important. Making it happen matters too.
I’m not interested in producing impressive-looking marketing strategies that nobody has the time, skills or resources to implement. I’d much rather work alongside a business to identify what needs to change and then help turn that thinking into something useful.
Sometimes that means working on positioning or messaging. Sometimes it’s a campaign or customer journey. Sometimes the real opportunity is in lead capture, follow-up, conversion, CRM or automation. Increasingly it can also mean finding sensible ways to use AI to make the work easier or more repeatable.
I’m naturally curious, I ask a lot of questions and I’m not afraid to challenge an assumption when something doesn’t add up. But good advisory work is collaborative. You know your business, and I bring the outside perspective.
The answer changes because the businesses and what they want to achieve change. The principle stays the same: understand the objective, find what’s getting in the way, focus the work there.
WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE
I like useful marketing.
The kind that has a reason for existing. The kind where everyone knows what it’s supposed to achieve and what happens when somebody responds.
I like simple systems that people actually use, useful numbers rather than dashboards full of vanity metrics, and technology that solves a genuine problem rather than creating another one.
I also believe the best advisory work should leave something behind. That’s why I work with clients to create assets, processes, frameworks and ways of working they can keep using after the engagement ends.
I want you to need what I bring to the project. Not to need me forever.
Think I could help?
You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you get in touch. That’s my job.
Tell me a little about your business, where you want to get to and what seems to be getting in the way. If it looks like I can help, I’ll be in touch to book a discovery conversation.
I’ll take a proper look at what you’re trying to achieve and whether I’m the right person to help.
